The customer's main requirement was not simply to purchase a peanut roasting machine.
They needed a complete process from automatic feeding to continuous cooling, with controlled material flow between each stage.
The production system needed to achieve:
Automatic Feeding → Continuous Roasting → Controlled Discharge → Continuous Cooling → Next Processing Stage
The customer also required the roasting process to be adjustable according to the characteristics of the black spot peanuts.
Important process parameters included:
Roasting temperature
Roasting time
Conveyor speed
Material layer thickness
Airflow
Initial moisture
Final moisture
These parameters are closely related to the final roasting quality and therefore needed to be considered during equipment configuration.
The initial production target for this project was 5 tons per hour.
At this production level, the roasting system needs to maintain stable material feeding and continuous heat transfer throughout the production process.
An automatic feeding system was therefore incorporated into the line to provide a stable and continuous flow of peanuts into the roasting equipment.
The roasting section was designed around continuous conveying and controlled hot-air heating.
Instead of processing peanuts in separate batches, the material continuously moves through the roasting chamber.
This allows the production process to remain stable and makes it easier to connect the roasting equipment with the next processing stage.
The complete process is designed around continuous material movement.
Peanuts are automatically transferred into the roasting line through the feeding system.
The feeding section helps maintain a stable material supply and reduces manual handling.
The peanuts enter the continuous roasting section and move through the heating chamber on the conveyor system.
Controlled hot air provides the required thermal energy for roasting.
The roasting process is controlled according to the required temperature, residence time and product moisture.
Conveyor speed can be adjusted to control the time the peanuts remain inside the roasting chamber.
After roasting, the material is discharged continuously at a controlled rate.
Stable discharge is important because the next cooling stage needs to receive a consistent flow of roasted peanuts.
The roasted peanuts enter the cooling section immediately after discharge.
Continuous cooling reduces product temperature before the peanuts are transferred to the next processing stage.
After cooling, the peanuts can be conveyed to the customer's next processing stage according to the factory's production process.
For industrial peanut roasting, production capacity is only one part of the process.
The customer also required control over the main roasting parameters, including temperature, roasting time and moisture.
The appropriate settings depend on the raw material condition and the desired finished product.
The roasting temperature needs to be adjusted according to the peanut variety, size, initial moisture and required roasting degree.
Roasting time is closely related to conveyor speed and the effective heating length of the roasting chamber.
Moisture removal is an important part of the roasting process.
The initial moisture of the peanuts and the required final moisture should be considered when determining the roasting parameters.
Hot-air circulation affects heat transfer and moisture removal. Stable airflow helps create more consistent roasting conditions across the material layer.
For this project, the roasting parameters are configured according to the customer's actual black spot peanut material and production requirements rather than applying one fixed setting to every peanut product.
For a factory targeting 5 TPH production with future expansion to 10 TPH, continuous roasting provides several practical advantages.
Automatic feeding and continuous conveying help maintain a consistent production flow.
Temperature and conveyor speed can be adjusted according to the roasting requirements.
Continuous feeding, discharge and cooling reduce repeated manual operations.
The roasting system can be connected with upstream and downstream processing equipment.
The initial system can be planned with future production expansion in mind.
For this Ethiopian customer, the roasting line was designed around the actual requirements of a grain processing factory rather than a standalone machine purchase.
The customer needed an industrial solution capable of handling:
5 TPH Initial Capacity
10 TPH Future Expansion
Continuous Peanut Roasting
Automatic Feeding
Controlled Discharge
Continuous Cooling
Stable Roasting Parameters
The resulting system provides a continuous production route from automatic feeding to cooled roasted peanuts ready for the next processing stage.
As food and grain processing factories increase production capacity, equipment needs to become more than individual machines.
A complete processing system should consider material flow, heating capacity, cooling capacity, automation, production space and future expansion together.
For this project, the customer's current 5 TPH requirement and future 10 TPH production target were both considered during the solution design.
The goal was to provide a roasting system that can support the customer's current production while leaving a practical path for future capacity growth.
If you are planning a commercial peanut processing project, the required production capacity is only the starting point.
The roasting system should also be designed around:
Raw Material + Initial Moisture + Target Moisture + Roasting Temperature + Roasting Time + Production Capacity + Factory Layout
